You Are Who You Surround Yourself With

Business ownership has real ups and downs, and it is helpful to have others that understand the grind, challenges, and paths to success.

Thank you to 10X Vets for hosting us in Washington D.C and bringing together an amazing group of veteran business owners!

Three things from the group that stuck with me:

1. "The military programmed us to ask for permission."
We were built for hierarchy. Decisions made above us. A clear path to the next rank. Business ownership asks you to drop those chains and write the playbook yourself. That transition is harder than most people expect.

2. "Operator versus Orchestrator. People think of veterans as operators, the Guy Behind The Guy."
This one hit home. I love structure, operations, and process improvement, all things the Air Force shaped in me. It also narrowed how I saw myself.
Time to use those operator skills and still step into the orchestrator role: building the partnerships, driving the strategy, being The Guy.

3. "Who is multiplying you now"
Its all about the relationships. This past year taught me how much the right relationships change the trajectory - find others that can elevate your game, share ideas, and create win-wins.
